The Mobile Robotic System (MRS) Series is a family of highly autonomous and agile inspection robots. These devices are able to move, autonomously or semi-autonomously, on a large spectrum of different surfaces and structures, such as rotors, vessels or pipes in order to carry out a wide range of tasks, including:

- Non-destructive testing (standard ultrasonic, phased array ultrasonic, eddy current, laser profiling, thermography, spectroscopy or x-ray)
- Visual inspection (vision systems, video cameras, etc.)
- Cleaning and surface treatment (water jet cleaning and cutting)
- Grabbing and picking

MRS Series inspection robots are highly mobile, accessing remote locations and coping flexibly with complex shaped surfaces or unexpected obstacles. They can be controlled by wire, wirelessly, or autonomously via the system itself.
Alstom Inspection Robotics builds the MRS Series products based on a module platform, with each device configured according to the specific requirements of the customer. They can be used for a wide variety of practical applications, from autonomous pipe inspection (axial, circumferential, helical or user defined) to the inspection of turbines or industrial pressure vessels and tanks.
