On 16 May 2009, the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) held the Festival de Robotique, exhibiting a total of 700 robots.

Alstom Inspection Robotics was the main sponsor of the event and took the opportunity to present their own technical developments, among others the MRS 200 “Pipe Inspector” that the approximately 8,000 visitors were able to see in action, both in and on a pipe.
